POSITIONS VACANT

Gwydir Shire Council is currently inviting applications for the following vacant positions:

  • Finance and Administration Trainee (2 Year Traineeship)

Responsible for assisting in the daily operations of Council’s Finance and Administration Services gaining skills in all aspects of the Finance function from operational processing to the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).  Salary will be determined by level of education completed and previous work experience.  Range T4 $666.24 – T8 $893.23.  School leavers are encouraged to apply.

  • Casual Childcare Educator

The Casual Childcare Educator is required to work with the Children’s Services team to ensure that local families have access to high quality children’s services within the Gwydir Shire.  This position is classified as Grade 3 in Gwydir Shire Council’s competency based salary system, with a commencing hourly pay rate of $24.4875 plus casual allowance.

 Trainee Plant Operator (2 Year Traineeship)

Operating as a member of the Technical Services team, the trainee will obtain the skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain Council’s heavy plant including excavator, front end loader, backhoe, truck etc. in line with Council’s works program.  Salary will be determined by level of education completed and previous work experience.  Range T4 $668.67 – T8 $902.31.  School leavers are encouraged to apply.

  • Casual Labourer

Responsible for the provision of manual duties in Councils works programs.  All positions within the Technical Services Department involve multi-skilling and the interchange of duties when and where required.  The position is classified as Grade 2 in Council’s salary system with a range of $21.1108 to $23.2746 per hour.  Placement within this grade will be dependent upon the qualifications, skills and experience of the successful applicant.  In addition, a casual allowance and adverse working conditions allowance will also be paid
