Bypass project expands with funding for wash down facility

Passing freight will soon find Warialda a vastly upgraded trucking hub, with Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall last week announcing the town will be the latest beneficiary of the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Truck Wash Program.

Gwydir Shire Council has secured $364,900 from the government to go towards the $1.2 million project, with council funding the remainder of the project.

Triple funding package kicks bypass project into gear

Warialda’s heavy vehicle bypass is now closer to becoming a reality, with $6.56 million in funding locked in from industry and all levels of government.

The funding announcement was made on Friday morning in Warialda by Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall, with Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton and Gwydir Shire Council Mayor John Coulton, who are jointly funding the project.

Debutantes carry on tradition

The annual Catholic Debutante Ball was held on the evening of May 26th, with ten young women making their debut. The evening drew a large crowd, with friends and family of the Debutantes and their partners gathering to celebrate the occasion together.

The Debutantes were presented to Parish Priest of St Patricks Church, Father Joseph Armah. Fr Armah was assisted by matron, Mrs Margaret Power.

State of the art facilities for Stonefield Rural Fire Brigade

Warialda Rail’s newest building was officially opened last week, as the Stonefield Rural Fire Brigade celebrated the construction of its new station.

The double bay shed is a state of the yard structure, built as the central base for the Stonefield Brigade, replacing the old shed that has been used for a number of years.
