Debutantes carry on tradition

The annual Catholic Debutante Ball was held on the evening of May 26th, with ten young women making their debut. The evening drew a large crowd, with friends and family of the Debutantes and their partners gathering to celebrate the occasion together.

The Debutantes were presented to Parish Priest of St Patricks Church, Father Joseph Armah. Fr Armah was assisted by matron, Mrs Margaret Power.

State of the art facilities for Stonefield Rural Fire Brigade

Warialda Rail’s newest building was officially opened last week, as the Stonefield Rural Fire Brigade celebrated the construction of its new station.

The double bay shed is a state of the yard structure, built as the central base for the Stonefield Brigade, replacing the old shed that has been used for a number of years.

War hero joins local ANZAC Day commemorations

Each ANZAC Day holds much significance to residents across the country, and this shows as crowds gather at marches and early morning services to pay their respects to past and current servicemen and women.

Yesterday morning, more than 150 people gathered at Warialda Public School to partake in the first of the day’s official proceedings as sunlight pierced the sky.

Value of tourists evident as HF Radio Club visits town

For many small towns across the state, the need to attract tourists and the tourist dollar is of high priority, with seminars and meetings taking place to brainstorm ways to do just this.

Over the past week, the Warialda community has seen the full effect of visitors to town, with the High Frequency Radio Club setting up camp.
