Back to back wins for Chapman

After rain saw the 2016 event cancelled, off road racers and spectators were excited to see the Hunter Rivmasta Warialda Off Road 200 return to ‘Monomeeth’.

More than fifty cars entered the event, with race crews and fans coming from near and far to enjoy a big weekend of racing.

Wombats to host elimination semi-final

The Warialda Wombats will this weekend host the Group 19 elimination semi-final, with four grades of football to be played out at the Recreation Ground.

The A Grade squad will be gunning to get a step closer to the 2017 Grand Final, as they take on the Moree Boars.

Start your engines for the North Star Trail Ride!

The North Star community is preparing for one of the biggest off-road sporting events in Northern New South Wales as the annual North Star Trail Ride returns for its 11th year this weekend.

Last year’s event saw over 1400 riders attending from near and far, some even travelling from Melbourne and Mackay to participate in the event. One of the event organisers, Jeff Nixon, again had high hopes for the event, stating, “We are hoping for between 1000 and 1500 riders this year."

Local riders fine tune desert preparations

With two weeks of on-track practice under their belts, Brett Carroll, Julie Denyer and Jesse Moore are putting the final touches on their plans for this weekend’s Finke Desert Race.

The Tatts Finke Desert Race has a reputation as one of the toughest off road races in the world, with more than 600 bikes set to line up and battle it out in the red dirt this weekend.

Country selection for Kennedy

The accolades for local rugby players continue to roll in, with news that Molly Kennedy has been named in the NSW Country Rugby Union Under 17 squad.

Molly’s selection comes on the back off a massive start to the year, playing for both Inverell ladies teams, Central North Women’s 15s and 7s, and most recently, the Central North Under 17 10 a side team, which competed at the Country Championships two weeks ago.
